What to write about? What to write about? It’s the 24th Sunday in Ordinary Time, Catechetical Sunday, and the start of Hispanic Heritage Month. Are you breathless yet? Oh, and we’re all gearing up for the Pflaum Gospel Weeklies program year starting with Sunday, September 22!
If your life feels frenzied and you sometimes feel frantic about getting it all done—and doing it all well (as I do), I hope you’ll find a moment of peace and a shift in perspective from this quotation from Saint Hildegard of Bingen, whose feast day is celebrated this week on the 17th:
Listen: there was once a king sitting on his throne. Around him stood great and wonderfully beautiful columns ornamented with ivory, bearing the banners of the king with great honor. Then it pleased the king to raise a small feather from the ground, and he commanded it to fly. The feather flew, not because of anything in itself but because the air bore it along. Thus am I, a feather on the breath of God.
May the breath of God carry you onward and upward! Peace!
