What Do They Know? What Have They Learned?

As you begin your program year, catechists and teachers of Good News / Buena Nueva, Venture / Aventura, and Visions / Visiones may wish to give your students a pretest to get a snapshot of how much each student already knows about the content of the faith for the upcoming year. These are offered as PDF, Word, and Online Assessments. Find them by clicking on your Gospel Weeklies level above.

What did you learn today? That’s among the first things parents ask when their children return from class. Children who can remember and express what they’ve learned are far more likely to retain—and live—what they have learned. Pflaum provides Weekly Review Templates / Plantillas para el repaso semanal for all five levels of the Gospel Weeklies in both Spanish and English. Portions of the templates can be used to reinforce learning in class (for example, catechists and teachers can use them as a review activity as students arrive). Or send them home—as homework or to verify that a student has completed a missed lesson. If you are using a family model this year, using the Weekly Review Templates and Weekly Lesson Assessments (Promise / Promesa through Visions / Visiones) will help with both student and parent accountability.

Other assessment tools are unit and final assessments for Good News / Buena Nueva, Venture / Aventura, and Visions / Visiones. Find all assessments here (English, Spanish).
