The Easter Celebration Is Just Beginning

The Easter Celebration Is Just Beginning

Untitled design (44)Happy Easter season! It’s important for children to understand that Easter is not only a day, but a 50-day season that celebrates the Resurrection and Ascension of Jesus Christ, the commissioning of the Apostles, and the birth of the Christian Church at Pentecost. Feasts of Spring offers brief explanations of the Easter feast days of the Ascension, the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary, and Pentecost.

Do you have a lesson on Divine Mercy for students?

    • Joan McKamey / Reply

      Madeleine,

Thank you for bringing this need to our attention! I expect it hasn’t been addressed in the past because we combine the lessons for Easter and 2nd Sunday of Easter (Divine Mercy Sunday) and focus on Resurrection themes. We will add it to our list to see how we might integrate mention of Divine Mercy into the lesson for April 1 and 8, 2018. We will also plan to make a printable available on this topic.

Happy Easter to you and yours! May we all find comfort and challenge in God’s abundant and reckless mercy!

I teach special needs on several different levels. Are videos available on iPads for special needs children? If not, how can I get them? Thanks!
Another idea that may work is compiling social stories, with pictures of different Bible stories that special needs children can follow. I am finding it hard to locate pictures on my own!
Using the Mysteries of the Life of Jesus! (Hint: the Rosary!)

Isabella, the videos should be viewable by children with special needs on iPads. Connect to them using the links provided in our GROW newsletter each week.

We will offer outlines for teaching children with special needs for Good News this fall (FREE online). We’ll keep your idea about Bible stories for future consideration. Thanks for alerting us to your needs–and for your important ministry!
