Spring and Summer Saints and Feasts

Spring and Summer Saints and Feasts

There’s lots to celebrate in spring and summer! Use these activities in class or send them home for the children to complete over the summer break.

The signs of spring can help young children begin to understand some of the mysteries of the Easter season, including death and resurrection. Help Seeds / Semillas children understand that the seasons are a gift from God, like all their many blessings. Distribute the Saying Thank You / Dar gracias activity, along with crayons or markers, and invite the children to color in the cross as they wish. Then help them to cut out their crosses. Encourage them to post them in their rooms near to where they may say daily prayers. Explain that saying thank you to God is one of the most important ways to pray.

Share My Senses / Mis sentidos with Promise / Promesa children and encourage them to use their senses to experience the wonders God’s Creation this spring and summer.

Invite Good News / Buena Nueva children to explore and identify some of the Feast Days of Spring / Fiestas de la primavera. The Church has already celebrated some of these feasts while several of them will happen in the weeks to come.

Introduce Venture / Aventura children to Some Spring and Summer Saints / Santo de primavera y verano with this seasonal printable.

Prepare Visions / Visiones students for Pentecost (5/24) with the A Great Event / Un gran suceso word puzzle.

Here are some other resources to share with families:
