Although the feast days of saints are not celebrated in the Church’s liturgy during Holy Week, we may always honor the saints and look to them for their intercession and example of faithful living. The feast of Saint Stanislaus of Kraków is this week on April 11 (also Holy Saturday). This patron of the Polish nation stayed faithful in the face of a very difficult situation that led to his being killed by the king of Poland in 1079. We might turn to him to intercede for us so that we may be strong as we deal with the difficult circumstances of our own lives today.
