This week, we celebrate Laudato Si´ Week. We observe the eleventh anniversary since the promulgation of Pope Francis’s landmark encyclical On Care for Our Common Home (Laudato Si´), which focuses on the environment. This week is an opportunity to reflect, pray, and recognize that we need one another and must work together to achieve a better future.
Laudato Si’ Week 2026 will be celebrated May 17–24. We are invited to move From Hope to Action. “Hope is not passive; it is lived and shared through daily choices, community life, prayer, and concrete acts of care. This year reminds us that ecological conversion grows step by step—through relationships restored, creation protected, and communities strengthened” (laudatosiweek.org).
Our hope must lead to action, so that together we will build a better future for the world that God entrusted to us.
Encourage families to pray We Praise You, God, for Your Creation this week. If you are still meeting for class, you may adapt the prayer for classroom use.
