Advent begins next Sunday 12/3. Plan now to make it a meaningful time of preparation for the celebration of Christmas. It can be challenging to help children appreciate and observe Advent when it seems that everyone’s focus is already on Christmas. Advent is a time of joyful anticipation of Christmas, so we need to help the children shift their focus from celebrating to preparing. Their experience of Christmas will be all the more meaningful if we help them spend the weeks of Advent in preparation and anticipation. Here are some activities that will help:
