Caring for those who are poor is foundational to our Christian faith and practice. It’s often easier to do charitable works—making donations of money, food, and clothing—than it is to get informed about and involved in changing unjust social systems that contribute to keeping many people in a cycle of poverty. But we are responsible for doing both!
