Jesus gives a lesson in humility in this week’s Gospel reading from Matthew. He told his disciples to listen to the Pharisees’ teaching, but to not follow their actions. Many would do things in public to get the recognition, but Jesus said instead to be humble servants. Not only that, but the greatest among them would be those who serve the rest. That was the example Jesus himself left for us, so we as his followers must also become humble servants.
