This Sunday is the Solemnity of All Saints. The Gospel reading from Matthew is the famous teaching of the Beatitudes by Jesus. Called the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus tells everyone who would listen that the way to eternal happiness is not riches and fame, instead the Kingdom of God is for those the world often rejects. Blessed are the poor, the meek, the sorrowful, those who hunger for justice, the merciful, those with pure hearts, the peacemakers, and the persecuted.
