Easter Sunday: John 20:1–9
2nd Sunday of Easter: John 20:19–31
Easter Sunday celebrates the core of the Christian faith—that God raised Jesus from the dead. Jesus promised that all who believe in him will have new life with God. The Gospels for both Sundays covered in this lesson tell the story of Easter— first through the eyes of Mary Magdalene and next through the eyes of the Apostles, especially Thomas. Note that the Gospels in the children’s lessons include the bridge between these two Gospels: John 20:10–18.
