Lenten Q and A

Lenten Q and A

396

It’s important that children do not simply go through the motions and rituals of Lent without understanding the meaning behind them. Even if they may not ask questions outright, children are wondering: Why does Lent have 40 days? What does it mean to fast or abstain? And why do Catholics observe Lent? Answer Your Questions About Lent is meant to be used with Venture children; however, it’s a good primer for catechists and teachers as well as families. Print it and send it home or share the link. After you review the questions, challenge the children to complete the Crossword Puzzle for Lent, working alone or in assigned pairs (answers are here).
