The Church celebrates the exemplary lives of saints throughout the year. During the summer months, remind your children and their families about some of these special people. Summer Saints includes Saint Thomas More (June 22), who lost his life for refusing to recognize King Henry VIII as the head of the Church. June 24 marks the feast day of Saint John the Baptist, Jesus’ cousin and the one who baptized him in the River Jordan. Summer Saints also includes short biographies of Saints Peter and Paul, Thomas the Apostle, Maria Goretti, and Joachim and Anne.
