Please include all those affected by Hurricane Harvey in your prayers and support their recovery efforts. The Texas Catholic Conference of Bishops has compiled a list of charities helping with the disaster.
Beginning with Hurricane Katrina, Catholic Charities USA has helped tens of thousands of individuals and families recover from disasters. To donate, text CCUSADISASTER to 71777 or visit www.catholiccharitiesusa.org. Funds raised will go towards Catholic Charities agencies’ efforts to assist families and individuals with shelter, food, and other immediate and long-term recovery needs.
Archbishop José H. Gomez of Los Angeles, vice-president of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB), has called on the bishops to consider taking up a special collection to support victims of Hurricane Harvey and to provide pastoral and rebuilding support to affected dioceses. This collection will occur September 2–3 or 9–10. Please be generous.
