This Sunday we celebrate the Dedication of the Lateran Basilica in Rome, one of the oldest Christian churches in the world. The Gospel reading this week is from John, the account of Jesus and the moneychangers. The selling of oxen, sheep, and doves angered the Lord because they had turned the Temple into a marketplace. Jesus reveals that he would be killed and rise again in three days, something his disciples didn’t understand until after the Resurrection.
