Did You Know?

As spring approaches, we know how busy things can get in parishes and schools. Below are helpful resources and key reminders to help you end your program year on a strong note and start looking ahead to next year. (You’re going to want to see what’s happening with the Gospel Weeklies for 2026–27!)

Late Close Lessons
We’re continuing to offer online Late Close Lessons on Creation, the Ascension, Pentecost, and Parables—each with a lesson plan, materials list, and activity sheet. Use these if your classes extend beyond the May 10 lesson. Available in English and Spanish for all levels: Seeds / Semillas, Promise / Promesa, Good News / Buena Nueva, Venture / Aventura, Visions / Visiones.

Plus, find three additional Late Close Lessons in the Activity Book for each level!

What the Church Believes and Teaches / Mi fe católica
Remind your catechists and teachers to send home the What the Church Believes and Teaches / Mi fe católica Catechism handbooks at your last class session. These handbooks can serve as useful home reference tools for both children and parents.

Looking Ahead to Next Year
We are making some exciting updates to the Gospel Weeklies for next year! Here are the highlights:

  • All age levels will now feature 8 pages per week (16 pages for bilingual). Content from What the Church Believes and Teaches / Mi fe católica Catechism handbooks will be integrated into the weekly lessons. Plus, each week there is a unified doctrinal theme across all levels.
  • Each student will now receive a Family Companion (English or bilingual). This new resource supports parents and families with weekly Gospel reflections, activities, monthly saint highlights, a family catechism, journaling, and more. Every Gospel Weeklies lesson will reference the Family Companion!
  • Full-year Teaching Guides will now be provided. The guides will follow the same format as in previous years, but all 32 lesson plans will be consolidated into a single guide for each level.
  • All orders will now be shipped as complete annual student sets, ensuring you receive the full year’s materials at one time for easier planning and distribution. Additionally, a bound book option (English only) will be available in limited quantities. The bound books will contain all 32 lessons in a book format with perforated pages, rather than nested lessons, and cost the same as the annual student sets.
