The major events in the Church Year—the Incarnation, which we celebrate at Christmas, and the Resurrection, which we celebrate at Easter—are so important that they are not celebrated for just one day. Explain to the children that Easter is a fifty-day season—a week of weeks, stretching from Easter Sunday until Pentecost, which is often referred to as the birthday of the Church. Signs of Easter Time that may be evident in your worship space are the lit Easter candle, lilies, and a cross or crucifix draped in white or gold.
Invite Venture children to consider how they will continue to live the commitments they made during Lent. The Fifty Days of Easter / Los cincuenta días de la Pascua calendar gives them a daily good work to accomplish on each day of the Easter season. Each action is an opportunity to make themselves happy and to bring happiness to others. Easter Time / Tiempo de Pascua is an activity through which Visions students will review their knowledge of the Triduum and the Easter season to reveal a traditional Easter greeting they may use throughout Easter Time.
