Resources For Families

The Pflaum Gospel Weeklies are a liturgically-based catechetical program that helps parents participate in their important role as the first educators of your children.

Choose from the list of resources below and on the right of this page that you can use at home. New articles will be added periodically, and the Gospel at Home is updated throughout the year to connect each Sunday Gospel to the children’s handouts for each age level.

Parent Teaching Pages

Parent and Teaching

Permission is granted to duplicate these ONLY as a supplement to the Pflaum Gospel Weeklies.

Word of the Week

Word of the Week

Seeds and Promise lessons now offer a Word of the Week to help young children begin learning the language of the faith. These words are based on thirty-two doctrinal concepts, one for each lesson. The words appear in the student lessons. Definitions are in the Teaching Guides and online here. Parents may support their child’s growing faith vocabulary by reviewing the words and their definitions at home.

Weekly Review Template

Weekly Review

Children will better understand and retain the week’s Gospel concept when they can express it in their own words and drawings. Free review templates continue the learning at home, build a relationship with families, and reinforce the week’s Gospel lesson. Catechists and teachers can print them out for the children to complete at home or attach them to a weekly email. Weekly review templates can be found in both English and Spanish.
