Walk with Jesus

204

Most parishes offer Stations of the Cross during Lent. Over the next two weeks, incorporate this prayerful practice into your lesson plans. You can join a scheduled event or create one for your class. This Stations of the Cross activity page provides history on the practice of praying the Stations as well as a brief description of each of the 14 scenes—from Jesus being condemned to death to his body being placed in the tomb.

After you return to your classroom, have the children act out each station or distribute art supplies so that they can draw one they remember well. Display the drawings in your classroom or take pictures of them and share them with the children’s families. These activities will help the children internalize the events of Jesus’ Passion and Death and prepare them to participate more fully in the Holy Week liturgies.
