Every week, the children gather for prayer, song, and an activity that taps into something they already know or have experienced and introduces the Sunday Gospel theme. They proclaim the Gospel together and then learn the related Church teaching and doctrine. Games, discussion questions, and activities reinforce the Scripture, doctrine, and life application.
The SUNDAY GOSPEL is presented in reader parts so children can read the parts of the characters and proclaim the Word.
After every activity, QUESTIONS encourage the children to share their thoughts and feelings. Discussion builds confidence and community and helps children retain what they’ve just learned.
welcome the children and send them off with a blessing or an expression of gratitude for your time together.
WHAT THE CHURCH BELIEVES AND TEACHES* Catechism handbooks provide a doctrine lesson integrated into the overall lesson. This part of the lesson is presented consistently between the Gospel and a related activity.
The LESSON WRAP-UP section allows you to send home related activities and weekly assessment templates. They
are perfect for motivated learners or children who could benefit from doing activities one-on-one with a parent.
