Gather the group together again and direct the children to read the last box with you. Invite them to give simple one- or two- word answers. Give every child a chance to participate, but don’t force anyone.
Activity l Jesus Sends Me Out (page 4) Remind the children of the holy people on the cover who told Jesus’ Good News and did loving and healing actions in Jesus’ name. They could have earned Jesus’Follower Badges. Read the introductory copy together and give the children time to complete their badges. Encourage creative thought about ways they’ve earned the badges. When everyone has finished, invite volunteers to share. Direct the children to sign their names neatly on the strip at the bottom of page 4. Distribute scissors and direct them to cut off the strip.
Closing Prayer Invite the children to bring the strips of paper to the prayer circle.
Leader: Let each of us put on a bracelet that reminds us we have Jesus’ Holy Spirit. I will make a cross on your hands to bless you. (The teacher tapes the bracelet around each child’s wrist and signs his or her hands saying: “Remember, (child’s name), Jesus sends you out with his Holy Spirit.”)
Close your prayer and gathering by singing “The Holy Spirit” (CD-2, #8).

   Move to the work area. Distribute pencils. Tell the class that they will each create a Good News Bulletin that reflects their understanding of what it means to be a follower of Jesus.
Invite the children to pair up and interview each other as recipients of the Good K.I.D. Award. Direct them to ask each other: What especially kind deed have you done? What did you learn from the experience?
Direct the children to complete Today’s Word Search.
Read the help-wanted ad together. Then direct the children to each complete a letter to Saint Paul telling him why he or she would be a good choice as a disciple of Jesus. Invite the children to share their letters with the class. Affirm their efforts.
Have the children close the What the Church Believes and Teaches handbooks and return to Good News, page 3.
   Live the Gospel
Objective The children will give evidence that they are Jesus’ followers.
Activity l What Good News Do I Tell? (page 3) Move to the work area. Hold up your copy of Good News (showing page 3) and read the title of the page aloud. The four boxes around the girl suggest good news she could tell.
Direct the children’s attention to the box at top left. Have them read the question aloud together. Invite volunteers to name their favorite persons. Don’t have anyone write in the box yet.
Move to the next box—good news about you. Invite volunteers to contribute. Keep it short and fun, two- or three-word answers. Distribute pencils and crayons and read together the box at
lower left. Give the children a moment to draw or write something

The Holy Spirit  lls us with grace. We do not know what the Holy Spirit looks like, but we often think of images that are full of life, energy, and peace. We can’t see the Holy Spirit— but if we pay attention, we know God’s Spirit is with us.
