Catholic Identity Project of the Week
Share the fruits of the religious education program with the larger parish community. Make a brief video of each child sharing something he or she learned about God this year in your class. Ask the pastor to share it with the parish and post it on a closed YouTube channel for your families.
Saints and Feast Days to Celebrate
l May 13: Our Lady of Fatima – Between May 13 and October 13, 1917, three Portuguese children—Francisco, Jacinta, and Lucia— received apparitions of Our Lady near Fatima. Mary asked the children to pray the Rosary for world peace, an end to World War I, sinners, and Russia’s conversion. The message of Fatima is simple: Pray.
l May 14: Saint Matthias, Apostle – After Jesus’ Ascension, Peter proposed a new Apostle be named to replace Judas, saying, “It is necessary that one of the men who accompanied us the whole time the Lord Jesus came and went among us...become with us a witness to his Resurrection” (Acts 1:21–22). Matthias was chosen.
