Saints and Feast Days to Celebrate
l March 1: Saint David of Wales – David served as a missionary, founding monasteries throughout Wales. The monks tilled the soil without the help of animals and survived on a diet of bread, water, and vegetables. Saint David is patron of Wales.
l March 3: Saint Katharine Drexel – Born into a wealthy family, Katharine served as a missionary to Native American and African American people throughout the western United States. Katharine Drexel was the second American-born person to become a saint. Canonized in 2000, she is the patron saint of philanthropists and racial justice.
