Curriculum Connections
l Tech: Brainstorm with students different ways Jesus might call the Twelve Apostles today (TV commercial, magazine advertisement, YouTube video, etc.). In small groups, have students design an example of how today Jesus might invite the Twelve to join him. (ISTE2016.1d, ISTE2016.6a)
l SS: Discuss with students the concept of hunters and gatherers. Ask students to brainstorm different animals people might
hunt (bears, bison, deer, fish). Have students write a paragraph explaining why the people at the time of Jesus fished instead of hunting land animals. Students should reference the environment (e.g., rivers, lakes, desert) in their responses. (D2.Geo.4.3-5)

Saints and Feast Days to Celebrate
l January 22: Day of Prayer for the Legal Protection of Unborn Children – On the anniversary of Roe v. Wade, Catholics offer Masses and prayers for the gift of human life. Pray: Loving God, every life is precious. We thank you for every person—young, old, and unborn. Amen.
l January 25: The Conversion of Saint Paul the Apostle – “Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me?” Jesus asks Saul (Paul) in Acts 9:4. Known for his prosecution of Christ’s followers, Saint Paul soon comes to believe in Christ after this revelation on the road to Damascus.
