What did Andrew and his friend see? What did they eat? What did they talk about? Tell the children they will play a game about what Jesus might observe if he came to their school. Divide your group into pairs to play the gameor divide your class in half to make two large teams. Follow the directions to play the game.Closing Prayer Gather in a circle, standing. Ask the children for prayer requests. Respond to each by saying, “Jesus, hear our prayer.” Pray the Lord’s Prayer to conclude.Play and sing “Come and Follow Me” (CD-2, #14) to summarize the message of this lesson.Remind the children to share their Gospel Weeklies with their families and to do the Family Corner activities and prayer together.Lesson Wrap-Upbetween the Last Supper and the Mass. Read aloud Luke 22:17–20. Tell the children that wecelebrate Mass because Jesus told us: “Do this in memory of me” (Luke 22:19).You might want to bring out those church supply catalogs. Have each child use pictures from the catalogs to make an illustrated chart of the items used for Mass: chalice, paten, ciborium, cruets, Communion cups, decanter, wine, hosts.Review Mass responses. Make cards with the greetings and the responses. Have the children match them up.Review the parts of the Mass. Make cards with the names of parts of the Mass and simple descriptions. Have the children match the names with the descriptions.
