SUNDAY GOSPEL Jesus Tells Us to Give to GodStoryteller: Some people in Jesus’ time believed in paying taxes to Caesar, the ruler of the whole Roman Empire. Some Pharisees taught that God’s Law forbids people to pay these taxes. The coins for paying the tax had the head of Caesar on them.Pharisee 1: Jesus, we know you are honest and say only what is right and true.
