Praise and CelebrateSundayOur most important celebration takes place every week. Like a family, we gather fora special celebrationcalled the Mass orEucharist. Sunday isthe Lord’s Day, the dayJesus rose from thedead. Every Sunday is alittle Easter. We gather together to celebrate God’s life, love, goodness, mercy, and forgiveness. We remember the Paschal Mystery— the Passion, Death, Resurrection, and Ascension of Jesus—at every Mass. We welcome and receive Jesus, who is right there with us.Feast DaysMany days of the year are feast days. We honor our Blessed Mother Mary, the Apostles, martyrs, and many other great saints. They showus how to be better friends of Jesus. They are examplesof Christian faith, hope, and love. And they are praying for us all the time so we can become saints, too. Celebrating the feast days of Mary and the saints shows that we, the Church on earth, are united with the Church in Heaven.Photo credit: Jean-Matthieu Gautier/CIRIC203456 78Nativity of Mary 9St. Peter ClaverSundayMondayTuesdayWednesdayThursdayFriday Saturday22nd Sunday in Ordinary TimeSEPTEMBER10 11 12 13 14 15 1623rd Sunday in Ordinary TimeHoly Name of MarySt. John ChrysostomExaltation of the Holy CrossOur Lady of SorrowsSts.
